Welcome to my crochet tractor pattern. The finished tractor will look like this.

Crochet Tractor Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
Materials Used
- Crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colours (606) Grass Green, (208) Yellow Gold and (110) Black.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- Scissors.
- Sewing needle.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
- Sewing thread to stitch the tractor together.
Size
Large tractor (Using 8 ply crochet cotton & a 3mm hook)
13cm x 11cm or 5” x 4.5”
Small tractor (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
6.5cm x 6cm or 2.75” x 2.5”
Tractor Body
24 ch.
Row 1: Miss 1st 2 ch and work 1 hdc in each st to end. Turn.
Rows 2-4: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each st to end. Turn.
Row 5: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each st to end. Don’t fasten off.
Neatening Row
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on sides and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc into each corner st. Join with a sl st in 1st ch. Fasten off.
Front of Cab
Join wool 13 sts back from front of body.
9 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st into next st along body. Fasten off.
Back of Cab
Join wool 2nd last st on body.
9 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st into last st on body. Fasten off.
Middle Section of Cab
Join wool 4th st from end of front cab.
8 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st into next st along body. Fasten off.
Roof
Use main colour.
Row 1: 2 ch, work 2 sc into top of front of cab, 3 ch, work 2 sc into top of middle of cab, 3 ch, work 2 sc into top of back of cab, 3 ch.
Row 2: Miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each st to end. Fasten off.
Join contrast colour to 1st st on right side of roof.
Row 3: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each st across. Fasten off.
Large Wheel
Using main colour make a magic loop.
1 ch, 6 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Join contrast colour in any st.
1 ch, work 2 hdc in each st. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Join black in any st.
2 ch, work 2 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Small Wheel
Using main colour make a magic loop.
1 ch, 4 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Join contrast colour in any st.
1 ch, work 2 hdc in each st. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Join black in any st.
2 ch, work 2 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Trim
13 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch. Fasten off.
Stack
Join black wool 7 sts from front of body.
7 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch. Sl st in next st on body. Fasten off.
Steering Wheel
Join black wool to corner of front cab section as shown.
2 ch, pull loop of last ch loose, cut wool leaving a bit of a tail but don’t fasten off.
Join black wool 3 sts along bottom of body from 1st part of steering wheel
2 ch, work 1 ch through the loop you left loose and then pull the loop tight, 2 ch, sl st into side of front cab.
Light
Join wool 3 sts down from back cab join.
1 ch, 3 sc in same st as ch. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Stitch wheels to body.
Stitch trim to body.
