Welcome to my crochet wagon pattern. This pattern was another request. This is what the finished wagon applique will look like.

Crochet Wagon Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colors (254) Moon Rock, (406) Soft Beige and (162) Black Coffee.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- A darning needle to weave in ends.
- Thread and needle to stitch the wagon together.
- Scissors.

Size
Large wagon (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)
19cm wide x 11cm high or 7.5” wide x 4.25” high
Medium wagon (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
16cm wide x 10cm high or 6.25” wide x 4” high
Small wagon (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
11cm wide x 8cm high or 4.25” wide x 3” high
Large Wheel (Make 2 wheels if you want a far side wheel)
Using (254) Moon Rock make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 12 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (12 sts)
Row 2: 6 ch, (work 1 tr in next st, 2 ch) 11 times, join with a sl st in 4th ch.
Row 3: 1 ch, work 3 sc in each 2 ch loop, join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.

Small Wheels (Make 2 wheels if you want a far side wheel)
Using (254) Moon Rock make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 12 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (12 sts)
Row 2: 4 ch, (work 1 dc in next st, 1 ch) 11 times, join with a sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 3: 1 ch, work 2 sc in each 1 ch loop, join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.

Side
I left longer tails at beginning and end of each row to neaten the sides.
Using (254) Moon Rock work 32 ch.
Row 1: Miss 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each remaining ch. (30 sts). Fasten off.
Join (406) Soft Beige to back loop of 1st st.

Row 2: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in back loop only of each st. (30 sts). Fasten off.

Join (254) Moon Rock to back loop of 1st st.
Row 3: 2 ch, work 1 dc in back loop of each st to end. (30 sts) Fasten off.

Join (406) Soft Beige to back loop of 1st st.
Row 4: 2 ch, work 1 dc in back loop of each st to end. (30 sts) Fasten off.
Join (254) Moon Rock to back loop of 1st st.
Row 5: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in back loop of each st to end. (30 sts) Fasten off.
Join (406) Soft Beige to back loop of 1st st.
Row 6: 2 ch, work 1 hdc in back loop of each st to end. (30 sts) Don’t fasten off.

Neaten Sides
Using the colors of the piece work 1 sc in each st down each side. Fasten off.

Join (162) Black Coffee to front loop left of 1st st of row 3.

Work 1 sl st in each st in front loop only of row 3. Fasten off.

Seat
Using (162) Black Coffee work 6 ch.
Miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch, 1 ch, sl st in same st. 7 ch, miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st in back loop of 2nd ch of seat, where shown.
Supports
Join (162) Black Coffee to 2nd st of bottom of seat. Work 5 ch. Fasten off leaving a longer tail to join to wagon.
Join (162) Black Coffee to 2nd last st of bottom of seat. Work 5 ch. Fasten off leaving a longer tail to join to wagon.

Axle
Using (162) Black Coffee work 50 ch.
Miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each of next 2 ch, a joined sc over following 2 ch, 1 sl st in each of next 14 ch, 1 sc in each of following 15 ch, 3 sc in next ch, 1 sc in each ch to end. Fasten off.

To Make Up
Weave in ends. Attach the seat to the wagon.

Stitch the left wheels to the wagon.

Sew the axle behind the wheels.

Add a knot in the centre of the wheels.

Attach the right wheels behind the wagon if desired.

And there’s the finished wagon appliqué. I’ve also made it in different sizes and colors.
