Welcome to my crochet magpie tutorial. This is the video tutorial for my crochet magpie pattern.
For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (110) Black, (106) Snow White and (393) Charcoal. Crochet hooks, I used a 2.5mm hook and a 2mm hook for the neatening rows. A darning needle to weave in ends, a pair of scissors. Thread and needle to stitch the magpie together. White thread to embroider on the markings and brown thread or a bead for the eye.
The size of the magpie will be 12cm wide x 12.5cm high (4.75” wide x 5” high) and it will look like this.
In this tutorial video I’ll show you how to make the beak, body and tail. Then I’ll guide you through making the wing, feathers, markings and legs. Finally, I’ll show you how to join all the pieces together.
