Welcome to my crochet kookaburra tutorial. This is the video tutorial for my crochet kookaburra pattern.
For this pattern you will need Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (106) Snow White, (162) Black Coffee, (130) Old Lace, (404) English Tea, (254) Moon Rock and (173) Bluebell. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the kookaburra together. Blue, brown and white thread to embroider on markings. A bead for the eye and a pair of scissors.
The size of the kookaburra will be 10cm wide x 11cm high (4” wide x 4.25” high) and it will look like this.

In this tutorial video I’ll show you how to make the head, body and tail. Then I’ll guide you through making the wing, the eye area and the wing markings. Finally, I’ll show you how to join the pieces together.
I hope that you’ve enjoyed this tutorial. Have a look at some of my other tutorials including the cockatiel, the galah tutorial, the crochet peacock, the cockatoo, and the king parrot.
