Welcome to my crochet Bavarian girl tutorial. Follow along with this video and learn how to make my crochet Bavarian girl pattern.

Finished Crochet Bavarian girl tutorial 4 ply landscape

That is what the finished Bavarian girl applique will look like.

I’ll guide you step-by-step through making the complete pattern. There will be instructions on how to make the head, dress, hair, eyes, apron, shoes, belt, blouse, necklace, flowers, neck and arms. There will also be information on how to join all of the pieces together so that you can make your own lovely girl.

I’ve made some different sized appliques and the one for the tutorial is 6cm x 14cm or 2.25″ x 5.5″. I used Scheepjes Catona cotton with the colors (208) Yellow Gold, (105) Bridal White, (110) Black, (390) Poppy Rose, (254) Moon Rock, (201) Electric Blue, (173) Bluebell and (106) Snow White. You could use different colors if you’d prefer. You will also need a crochet hook, I used a 2.5 mm hook,  some scissors, a darning needle to weave in ends and sewing thread and needle to stitch the girl together and embroider on markings.

If you would like to make a Bavarian couple, I have also made a crochet Bavarian boy tutorial that you can use as well.

I hope that you have enjoyed this tutorial, if you have you might want to look at some of my others including the crochet boy with a fishing rod tutorial and the girl with a basket of flowers tutorial.
