Welcome to my crochet octopus tutorial. In this tutorial video, I will show you how to make my crochet octopus pattern.

I’ll show you how to make the head and body, legs, eyes and spots. Then I’ll guide you through putting it all together.

The finished octopus applique will be 15cm wide x 15cm high or 6″ wide x 6″ high and will look like this.

Finished crochet octopus tutorial 4 ply landscape

For the tutorial you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colours (105) Bridal White, (201) Electric Blue for the spots if desired and a tiny bit of (404) English Tea for the outer eyes or you could use the Bridal White.  You will also need a crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook.  A darning needle to weave in ends, and a pair of scissors.  Sewing thread and a needle to stitch the octopus together.  Some black thread for the eye markings if desired.

I hope that you liked the video. I also have other tutorials that you might want to look at, including the seahorse, coral tutorial, the cowrie shell, the starfish, the angelfish, dolphin, seaweed, the clownfish and the goldfish tutorial.
