Follow along with this crochet mermaid tutorial and learn how to make my crochet mermaid pattern.
To make this crochet mermaid you will need 4 or 5 colours of crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Catona crochet cotton colours (105) Bridal White, (208) Yellow Gold, (106) Snow White and (146) Vivid Blue. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook and some scissors. Darning needle to weave in ends. Sewing thread and needle to stitch the mermaid together. Embroidery thread or black beads for the eyes and a bead for the flower centre if desired.
The finished mermaid will be 13cm x 18 cm or 5″ x 7″ and will look like this.
I’ll step you through making the head and hair, then the body, bra, tail and flower. And finally, I’ll guide you through adding the eyes and mouth and then joining all of the pieces together.
