Welcome to my crochet cowboy hat tutorial. This is the video tutorial for my crochet cowboy hat pattern.
For this pattern, you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton color (393) Charcoal for the hat and 8 ply light grey yarn for the band, but you could use fine ribbon for the band. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends and a pair of scissors. Sewing thread and a needle to stitch the band to the hat.
The finished cowboy hat applique will be 7cm wide x 4.5cm high (2.75” wide x 1.75” high) and look like this.
In the tutorial video, I’ll show you how to make the hat top, the band, and the brim. Then I’ll guide you through joining all of the pieces together.
