Welcome to my crochet coral pattern. This is a request that I received. This is what the finished coral applique will look like.

Crochet Coral Pattern

Abbreviations

st – stitch
sts – stitches

ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
dc – double crochet

htr – half treble crochet
tr – treble crochet

Materials Used

Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colour (410) Rich Coral.

A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
A darning needle to weave in ends.
Scissors.

Size

Large coral (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)

22cm wide x 23cm high or 8.5” wide x 9” high

Medium coral (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)

17cm wide x 16cm high or 6.5” wide x 6.25” high

Small coral (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)

12cm wide x 13cm high or 4.75” wide x 5” high

Stem & 1st Branch

Using (410) Rich Coral work 25 ch,

Miss 1^st ch, work 1 dc in each of next 6 sts, 5 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 3 ch of original ch, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next of original ch and 2 dc in following ch.

2nd Branch

30 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 5 ch, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and following 3 of original ch, 12 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 5 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 3 of original ch, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 3 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in side of dc and next 6 sts, (4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 5 of original ch) 2 times.

3rd Branch

25 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 5 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 2 ch, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in side of dc and next 5 of original ch, (4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 4 sts of original ch) 2 times, 3 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and each ch to stitch before joining of the last branch.

4th Branch

20 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 12 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, 5 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 3 ch, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 5 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 6 sts, 9 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in next 4 ch, 5 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and each ch until 2 ch after join of 2^nd branch.

5th Branch

15 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in next 4 sts, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 9 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 2 ch, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 3 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch and next 5 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 ch, 3 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 10 sts.

6th Branch

11 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, 6 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, 4 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and next 5 sts, 3 ch, miss 1^st ch, 1 dc in each remaining ch, in the side of dc and each st down branch and to end of the stem.

Row 2: 1 ch, sl st in other side of 1^st ch, 1 ch, 1 dc in each ch to 1^st branch, 1 sl st and 1 ch in each st to end of 6^th branch. Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.
