Welcome to my teddy bears picnic baby blanket crochet pattern. This is the last pattern in my teddy bears picnic blanket series and I’ll be showing you how to combine all the previous patterns. When finished, the blanket looked like this.

I entered the blanket into the Royal Queensland Show, and I’m happy to announce that I got 1st place in the baby blanket, shawl or pram cover section.
Teddy Bears Picnic Baby Blanket
Materials Used
- I used some rubber mat, a spray bottle with water, a sheet and pins to block the blanket.
- Sewing thread and a sewing needle to stitch the appliques to the blanket.
- Some wading to pad a few of the appliques and a small amount of filling to fill the legs of the teddy on the swing and the sauce bottles.
Blanket
Pattern used:
Blocking the Blanket
I got some rubber mat larger than the blanket, covered it with a sheet, sprayed the blanket with water using a spray bottle and then gently stretched it into shape pinning it evenly to the rubber mat. I left it to dry before unpinning it.
Tree, Blossoms, Swing and Teddy
Patterns used:
I attached the swing to the swing branch and the blossoms to the tree using a French knot, then using an invisible stitch I stitched the tree to the blanket with the right side up again the side of the blanket and the swing branch near the join of the sky.
Then I stitched the swing to the blanket using an invisible stitch but left it unstitched on both sides of the chain for the teddy’s arms to go through.
I used a child teddy to sit on the swing and crocheted a back for the teddy using the same pattern but leaving out the muzzle and facial features. I sewed the back to the teddy front filling the legs as I sewed it together. I worked a row of stitching across the middle of the teddy through both thicknesses to make it look like it’s sitting on the swing. I pushed the teddy’s arms through the chains for the swing and sewed it to the blanket and left it unstitched around the legs. I then stitched the remaining chain down over the bear’s hands. Add some flowers and leaves to the swing chains if desired.
Arranging Appliques on Blanket
I arranged all the other appliqués on the blanket, took photos once I was happy with the design to refer back to and pinned them on.
Teddies and Food on Plaid Picnic Blanket
Patterns used:

- Picnic Blanket Food Crochet Pattern
I cut out some wading for the 2 large teddies and the basket to go on the plaid picnic blanket and stitched the teddies, food and basket to the plaid picnic blanket. I then sewed the plaid picnic blanket to the teddy bears picnic blanket using an invisible stitch. Then stitched the parts of the teddies and basket that were over the plaid blanket onto the teddy bears picnic blanket with an invisible stitch.
Pram, Barbecue and Teddy with Apron
Patterns used:

- Barbecue Apron Crochet Pattern
I sewed the pram, barbecue and teddy with an apron to the blanket using an invisible stitch, stitching one of the barbecue utensils in the teddy’s hand. I left the barbecue handle unstitched.
Picnic Table, Food and Baby Teddy
Patterns used:
I stitched the sauce bottles to the small basket adding a bit of filling to each as I attached them. Then I attached the basket, watermelon and 2 glasses to the top of the table. I sewed the table to the baby blanket using an invisible stitch.
I crocheted a baby teddy leaving off the nappy and bottle but adding a flower and attached it to the seat of the picnic table using an invisible stitch.
Airplane
Pattern used:
I attached the teddy bears head to the cockpit of the plane and stitched the plane to the blanket using an invisible stitch.
Teddies with Kites
Patterns used:
I worked chain for the kite strings and stitched the teddies and kites to the blanket using an invisible stitch.
Teddies with Balloons and Skipping Rope
Patterns used:
I crocheted 2 teddies with dresses, 3 balloons and a skipping rope using my paid pattern. The teddy bear with dress and accessories pattern is a paid exclusive pattern on Ravelry and the video tutorial is available for our Patreon $10 subscribers. If you like, you could use the Teddy Bear Crochet Applique Pattern and I have a basket pattern available on the Girl with a Basket of Flowers Pattern. A skipping rope could easily be made using a length of chain and handles and you could make a circle for the balloons. The teddies were both attached using an invisible stitch.
Grass for Under Tree
I crocheted some grass for under the tree, sewed it on at the bottom of the trunk and then stitched some blossoms around under the tree using a French knot for the centre of the flowers.
22 ch.
Work 1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in next st, 1 htr in each of following 2 sts, miss one ch and sl st in next st, 1 dc in following st, 3 ch, 1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in next st, sl st in next 2 sts on original ch, 5 ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 dc in next st, 1 htr in each of following 2 sts, miss 1 st on original ch and work 1 sl st in each of next 2 sts, 6 ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 dc in next st, 1 htr in each of following 3 sts, miss 1 st on original ch and work 1 sl st in each of next 2 sts, 3 ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in next st, sl st in next 2 sts on original ch, 5 ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook. 1 dc in next st, 1 htr in each of following 2 sts, miss 1 st on original ch and work 1 sl st in each of next 2 sts, 6 ch, 1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in next st, 1 htr in each of following 3 sts, sl st in last st on original ch. Fasten off.
Child Teddy Bear with Watermelon
Patterns used:
The blanket had a gap that needed to be filled and I had a deadline to finish it so I attached a child teddy bear holding a piece of watermelon. Both were stitched on using an invisible stitch.
And when it was all put together it looked like this.
