Today I’ll show you how to make this easy sheep and lamb crochet pattern.

Easy Sheep Crochet Pattern

Abbreviations 

• st – stitch
• sts – stitches
• ch – chain
• sl st – slip stitch
• sc – single crochet
• hdc – half double crochet
• dc – double crochet

Materials Used 

• White and black crochet cotton or wool, I used 8 ply wool which is light worsted in the US and double knit in the UK.
• A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook.
• Scissors.
• Black thread to sew together.
• Sewing needle.
• Darning needle to weave in ends.
• Sewing or embroidery cotton to embroider on a face or you could use tiny white buttons for the eyes.

Body

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  3 ch, work 18 dc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in 3^rd ch.

Row 2:  3 ch, work 2 dc into each st.  Join with a sl st in top of 1^st dc.  (36 sts)

Row 3:  (3 ch, work a dc cluster over the same st as the ch, and each of the next 2 sts, 3 ch, sl st into the same st as the last part of the dc cluster, sl st into next st) repeat to end.  Fasten off.

Head

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  3 ch, work 14 dc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in 3^rd ch.

Row 2:  1 ch, 1 sc in same st as ch, work 2 sc into each st.  Join with a sl st in ch. Don’t fasten off.

Ears

4 ch.

Miss 1 ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st in same st on head, sl st in each of next 8 sts, 4 ch, miss 1 ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st in same st on head.  Fasten off.

Leg (Make 2)

7 ch.

Miss 1 ch, 1 sc in each st to end.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.  Embroider on eyes, nose and mouth or use tiny buttons for the eyes.

Sew the head to the body.

Stitch the legs to the body.

And there’s the finished sheep.

Easy Lamb Crochet Pattern

Body

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  3 ch, work 18 dc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1^st dc.

Row 2:  (2 ch, work a joined hdc over the same st as the ch, and next st, 2 ch, sl st into the same st as the last part of the joined hdc, sl st into next st) repeat to end.  Fasten off.

Head

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  2 ch, work 10 hdc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in 2^nd ch. Don’t fasten off.

Ears

3 ch.

Miss 1 ch, work 1 sl st in each remaining ch, sl st in same st on head, sl st in each of next 4 sts, 3 ch, miss 1 ch, work 1 sl st in each remaining ch, sl st in same st on head.  Fasten off.

Leg (Make 2)

6 ch.

Miss 1 ch, 1 sc in each st to end.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.  Embroider on eyes, nose and mouth or use tiny buttons for the eyes.

Sew the head to the body.

Stitch the legs to the body.
