Welcome to my latest crochet pattern, this crochet panda face. It will be a part of the ongoing train series. The completed panda will look like this.

Crochet Panda Face Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Small amounts of desired colours of cotton or wool, I used black and white 4 ply crochet cotton.
- Crochet hook, I used a 1.25mm hook.
- Sewing or embroidery cotton to embroider on the nose and mouth.
- Sewing needle.
- Scissors.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
Head
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch. Work 14 dc into loop and pull circle tight. Sl st into 3rd ch.
Row 2: 3 ch. Work 2 dc into each st. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 3: 3 ch. (Work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts and 2 dc in following st) repeat to end of row, sl st in 3rd ch. Fasten off.
Muzzle
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch. Work 14 dc into loop and pull circle tight. Sl st into 3rd ch. Fasten off.
Eye Markings (Make 2)
Make a magic loop.
Work 2 ch, 1 dc, 2 sc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 2 sc into loop and pull circle tight, sl st into 2nd ch. Fasten off.
Ears
Join thread to head.
2 ch, work 1 dc in same st as ch, 1 tr in next st, 1 tr and 1 dc in following st, 1 hdc in next st. Fasten off.
Join thread in 7th st from ear and make another ear the same.
Paws (If needed) (Make 2)
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 4 ch, 4 tr in loop, pull circle tight but don’t join. Turn.
Row 2: 4 ch, work a 4 tr cluster across the 4 sts. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Embroider a nose and mouth on muzzle.
Attach eye markings to face.
Stitch the muzzle just over eye markings.
And here’s the finished crochet panda face with a train carriage.
