To Join Granny Squares
Make a slip knot as shown and pull it through (from the bottom) the outer loop of the corner of 1st granny square keeping your yarn to the back of the granny square. Put the loop back on your hook and pull tight.
Then put your hook through the outer loop of the corner of the 2nd granny square, put your yarn around the hook and bring the loop through the 2nd granny square and through the loop from the slip knot from the 1st granny square. The first stitch is complete.
Put your hook through the outer loop of the next stitch of the 1st granny square and then put your hook through the outer loop of the next stitch of the 2nd granny square, put your yarn around your hook and pull the loop through both the stitches. The 2nd stitch is complete.
Repeat the steps of the last stitch until you reach the end then fasten off.
You could join the granny squares using your main colour or use a contrast colour like this. Here’s a finished cushion that I’ve made by joining the granny squares using slip stitch.
