Welcome to my new beginner tutorial, this edging for a baby blanket crochet pattern. The blanket that I’ll be working on today is a baby boy blanket. Here is one I made previously for a baby girl.
The beginner crochet tutorial for this pattern is available at Edging for a Baby Blanket Tutorial.
This pattern will be using US terminology. If you would like to get the UK version go to Edging for a Baby Blanket Crochet Pattern (UK Version).
If you’re unsure about how to make a granny square I’ve made an easy pattern that you can view for free at Solid Granny Square Crochet Pattern.

Row 2: 1 ch, 1 sc in same place as ch, (work 1 sc in each st around to corner st, work 2 sc in corner st) repeat around the blanket and join with a sl st in ch.

Here’s how the blanket looks when finished.
I added these appliques to the blanket and the patterns are available on the links below.

To attach the appliques to the granny square I’ve got an easy to follow guide at Attaching a Crochet Applique item to a Crochet Item.
I hope that this guide helps you with the edging for blankets.
