For the pattern and tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this cute crochet rabbit.

Crochet Rabbit Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- dtr – double treble crochet
Materials Used
- A main and contrast colour, black, white, pink and a colour for the eyes cotton or wool.
- Crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Thread to sew together.
- Sewing needle.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
- Black cotton to embroider on the mouth.
Head
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch. Work 14 dc into circle and pull circle tight. Sl st into 3rd ch.
Row 2: 3 ch. 1 dc in same place as ch. Work 2 dc into each st around. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 3: 2 ch. Work 1 hdc in same place as ch,1 hdc in each of next 2 sts and 2 hdc in following st, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 tr in following st, 1 tr in next, 2 tr in following st, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 hdc in each of following 2 sts, 2 hdc in next st, 1 dc in following st, 2 tr in each of next 2 sts, 1 dc in following st, (2 hdc in next st and 1 hdc in each of following 2 sts) repeat to last 4 sts, 1 dc in next st, 2 tr in each of following 2 sts, 1 dc in last st, sl st in 2nd ch. Don’t fasten off.
1st Inner Ear
Sl st up 3 st from join.
11 ch, miss 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts, 1 joined hdc over following 2 sts, 1 dc in next, 1 tr in each of next 2 sts, 1dc in next and 1 hdc in last st. Sl st into head and fasten off.
1st Outer Ear
Join cotton to the same st at beginning of 1st inner ear.
Sl st into each st up side of ear, 2 sc into each of next 2 sts in end of ear, 1 hdc in each of next 2 sts, 1 joined dc over following 2 sts, 1 tr in following st, 1 joined tr over next 2 sts, 1 dc in any remaining sts. Sl st into head and fasten off.
2nd Inner Ear
Join cotton 5 sts down from centre st (the single tr) on top of head.
Work the same as 1st ear.
2nd Outer Ear
Join cotton 2 sts before 2nd ear.
Work a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in each of next 2 sts, 1 joined dc over next 2 sts, 1 hdc in each of next 3 sts, 2 sc in each of next 2 sts, 1 sl st in each remaining st. Sl st into head and fasten off.
Muzzle
Make a magic loop.
3 ch, 3 dc, 6 hdc, 4 dc, 6 hdc, sl st in 3 ch. Fasten off.
Outer Eye (Make 2)
Make a magic loop.
1 ch, 6 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and sl st in ch. Fasten off.
Inner Eye (Make 2)
Make a magic loop.
1 ch 2 sc in circle. Pull circle tight and sl st in ch. Fasten off.
Nose
Make a magic loop.
2 ch, joined hdc in circle. Pull circle tight but don’t join. Fasten off.
Tongue
Make a magic loop.
2 ch, joined hdc in circle. Pull circle tight but don’t join. Fasten off.
Body
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch. Work 14 dc into circle and pull circle tight. Sl st into 3rd ch.
Row 2: 3 ch. 1 dc in same place as ch. Work 2 dc into each st around. Join with a sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 3: 3 ch. Work 1 dc in same place as ch (1 dc in each of next 2 sts and 2 dc in following st) repeat to end, sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 4: 1 ch, 1 sc in each st around to end. Sl st in ch and fasten off.
Tail
Join cotton to body.
2 ch, joined hdc in same place as ch, 2 ch sl st in same place as hdc, sl st into next st, 2 ch, sl st into the 2 ch loop as shown,
1 ch, work a joined dc in same place as last sl st on body, 3 ch, sl st in same place as dc, sl st in next st, 2 ch, sl st into the 2 ch loop as shown.
Work a joined hdc in same place as last sl st on body, 2 ch sl st in same place as hdc. Fasten off.
Legs (Make 2)
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch, 3 dc into circle, 3 ch, sl st into circle, then work 1 ch and 3 sc into circle and sl st into bottom of 1st 3 ch. Pull circle tight. Turn.
Row 2: 1 ch, 1 sc in 1st 3 sts. Turn.
Row 3: 1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, joined sc over following 2 sts. Turn.
Row 4: 1 ch, 1 joined sc over 1st 2 sts, 2 sc in last st. Turn.
Row 5: 1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, joined sc over following 2 sts. Turn.
Row 6: 1 ch, 1 joined sc over 1st 2 sts, 2 sc in last st. Turn.
Row 7: 1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, joined sc over following 2 sts. Don’t fasten off.
Neatening Row
For second leg turn it over to work neatening row so it will point in the opposite direction
Sl st in each st around fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Embroider a white spot on each inner eye.
Stitch inner eye to outer eye.
Stitch nose onto muzzle and stitch the tongue to centre bottom of muzzle.
Embroider on the line between the nose and onto tongue and embroider on the dots.
Stitch the muzzle to the head.
Stitch the eyes to the head where shown and embroider eyelashes if desired.
Stitch on the mouth and around the tongue if desired.
Attach the head to the body.
Attach the paws to the bottom of the head as shown.
And there’s the finished crochet rabbit.
