Welcome to my crochet pine tree pattern. This is another request that I received. This is the taller one and I will make a shorter pine tree next week. This is what the finished pine tree applique will look like.

Crochet Pine Tree Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htr – half treble crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush colours (400) Petrol and (162) Black Coffee.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- A darning needle to weave in ends.
Size
Large pine tree (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)
12.5cm wide x 19cm high or 5” wide x 7.5” high
Medium pine tree (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
9cm wide x 13cm high or 3.5” wide x 5” high
Small pine tree (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
6.5cm wide x 11cm high or 2.5” wide x 4.25” high
Tree
Using (400) Petrol make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch, work 1 tr in circle. Pull circle tight. Turn. (1 st)
Row 2: 3 ch, work 3 tr in st. Turn. (3 sts)
Row 3: 3 ch, work 2 tr in each st. Turn. (6 sts)
Row 4: 3 ch, work 2 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. (8 sts)
Row 5: Work 1 sl st in each of 1st 3 sts, 3 ch, 3 tr in same st as ch, 1 tr in each of next 2 sts, 3 tr in following st. Turn. (8 sts)
Row 6: 3 ch, work 2 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. (10 sts)
Row 7: 3 ch, work 2 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. (12 sts)
Row 8: Work 1 sl st in each of 1st 3 sts, 3 ch, 3 tr in same st as ch, 1 tr in each of next 6 sts, 3 tr in following st. Turn. (12 sts)
Row 9: 3 ch, work 2 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. (14 sts)
Row 10: 3 ch, work 2 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 2 tr in last st. Turn. (16 sts)
Row 11: Work 1 sl st in each of 1st 4 sts, 3 ch, 3 tr in same st as ch, 1 tr in each of next 8 sts, 3 tr in following st. Turn. (14 sts)
Row 12: 3 ch, work 3 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 3 tr in last st. Turn. (18 sts)
Row 13: 3 ch, work 3 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 3 tr in last st. Turn. (22 sts)
Row 14: Work 1 sl st in each of 1st 6 sts, 3 ch, 3 tr in same st as ch, 1 tr in each of next 10 sts, 3 tr in following st. Turn. (16 sts)
Row 15: 3 ch, work 3 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 3 tr in last st. Turn. (20 sts)
Row 16: 3 ch, work 3 tr in 1st st, 1 tr in each st to last st, 3 tr in last st. Don’t turn or fasten off.
Neatening Row
1 ch, work 1 sl st in each st around to the beginning of the last row. Fasten off.
Trunk
Join (162) Black Coffee to st before centre st on the wrong side of the bottom of the tree.
Row 1: 3 ch, work 1 tr in same st as ch, 1 tr in each of next 2 sts. Turn.
Row 2: 3 ch, work 2 tr in each st. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. If desired decorate the tree with beads.
