Welcome to my crochet jeep pattern. This is a request that I received. This is what the finished jeep applique will look like.

Crochet Jeep Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sugar Rush 2 ply crochet cotton colours (390) Poppy Rose, (618) Silver, (162) Black Coffee and (110) Black.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- Scissors.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
- Sewing thread and needle to stitch the jeep together.
Size
Large jeep (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)
15.5cm x 10cm or 6.25” x 4”
Medium jeep (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
10cm x 6.5cm or 4” x 2.5”
Small jeep (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
8.5cm x 5cm or 3.25” x 2”
Body
Using (390) Poppy Rose work 27 ch.
Row 1: Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each st to end. Turn. (26 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st to end. Turn. (26 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st to end. Turn. (26 sts)
Row 4: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each of next 10 sts. Turn. (10 sts)
Rows 5-7: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Turn. (10 sts)
Row 8: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Fasten off.
Bonnet of Jeep
Join (390) Poppy Rose to 1st st as shown.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each of 1st 8 sts, a joined sc over next 2 sts. Turn. (9 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work a joined sc over 1st 2 sts, 1 sc in each st to end. Turn. (8 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st to last 2 sts, a joined sc over last 2 sts. Turn. (7 sts)
Row 4: 1 ch, work a joined sc over 1st 2 sts, 1 sc in each st to end. (6 sts)
Neatening Row
Turn work before neatening row.
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st along sides and 1 sc, 1 ch, 1 sc in corner sts. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Side-Step
Using (618) Silver work about 36 ch. (I work a couple extra and undo any I don’t use)
Miss 2 ch and work 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch, join to bottom of body by working 1 hdc in each st through the ch and body, 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch. Fasten off. Undo any remaining ch.
Bottom of Seat
Join (162) Black Coffee 3 sts before the back where shown.
2 ch, work 1 hdc in same st as ch and 1 hdc in each of last 2 sts. Join to side of body with a sl st and fasten off.
Top of Seat
Join (162) Black Coffee 2 sts along the back of the body where shown.
4 ch.
Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 hdc in next ch, 1 dc in last ch, sl st in next st on body. Fasten off.
Windscreen Frame
Join (390) Poppy Rose to last st on bonnet where shown.
10 ch.
Miss 2 ch and work 1 hdc in each remaining ch, join to jeep body with a sl st. Fasten off.
Inner Wheel (Make 2)
Using (618) Silver make a magic loop.
1 ch, work 10 hdc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Outer Wheel
Join (110) Black to any stitch.
2 ch, work 2 dc in each st, join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Rollbar
Join (618) Silver to the stitch behind the seat top.
6 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sc in each remaining ch, sl st in same st on body. Fasten off.
Join (618) Silver cotton 4 sts back from 1st part of rollbar.
8 ch.
Miss 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st, sl st in same st on body. Fasten off.
Steering Wheel
Join (110) Black 2 sts down from windscreen frame.
4 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sl st in each remaining ch, sl st in body. Fasten off.
5 ch.
Miss 1 ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch. Fasten off.
Bumper Bar
Join (618) Silver 2 sts up from side-step at front of jeep.
9 ch.
Miss 1 ch and work 1 sl st in each of next 5 sts, a joined sl st over next 3 sts, sl st into body. Fasten off.
Spare Tyre
Using (110) Black work 11 ch.
Miss 2 ch and work 1 hdc in each ch to last ch, work 1 hdc, 1 dc and 1 hdc in last ch, work 1 hdc in back loop of each st to last st, into last st work 1 hdc and 1 dc, sl st in top of 1st st and fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Join rollbar pieces together.
Attach top of steering wheel to bottom of steering wheel.
Stitch the wheels to the body.
Sew the spare tyre to the back of the body.
And there’s the finished jeep applique. I’ve also made it in different sizes and colors.
