Welcome to my crochet house pattern. This pattern was another request. This is what the finished house applique will look like.

Crochet House Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colors (513) Spring Green, (106) Snow White, (074) Mercury, (393) Charcoal, (115) Hot Red, (173) Bluebell, (162) Black Coffee and (606) Grass Green.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- A darning needle to weave in ends.
- Scissors.
- Embroidery thread and needle to embroider on the flowers.
- Sewing thread to stitch the house together.
Size
Large house (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)
22cm wide x 22cm high or 8.5” wide x 8.5” high
Medium house (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
14cm wide x 14cm high or 5.5” wide x 5.5” high
Small house (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
11cm wide x 11cm high or 4.5” wide x 4.5” high
House
Using (513) Spring Green work 38 ch.
Row 1: Miss 2 ch, work 1 dc in each remaining ch. Turn. (36 sts)
Rows 2-12: 2 ch, work 1 dc in each st. Turn. (36 sts)
Row 13: 4 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 28 sts, a joined dc over last 4 sts. Turn. (30 sts)
Row 14: 4 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 22 sts, a joined dc over last 4 sts. Turn. (24 sts)
Row 15: 4 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 16 sts, a joined dc over last 4 sts. Turn. (18 sts)
Row 16: 4 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 10 sts, a joined dc over last 4 sts. Turn. (12 sts)
Row 17: 4 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 4 sts, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, a joined dc over last 4 sts. Turn. (6 sts)
Row 18: 4 ch, work a joined tr over the 6 sts. Don’t turn or fasten off.
Neatening Row
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in each corner st. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off.
Edge
Join (106) Snow White to bottom corner where shown.
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in each corner st to bottom. We don’t work along the bottom. Fasten off.
Roof
Join (074) Mercury to the ch at beginning of roof.
1 ch, working into back loop only work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in top st of roof to ch at end of roof. Fasten off.
Join (106) Snow White to the 1 ch at beginning of roof.
2 ch, work 2 hdc in same st as join, 1 hdc in back loop only of each st to point of roof, 1 hdc, 1 ch and 1 hdc in point, 1 hdc in back loop only in each st to last st of roof, 3 hdc in last st. Fasten off.
Join (393) Charcoal to 1st st of roof.
1 ch, work 1 sl st in each st around roof. Fasten off.
Window (Make 4)
Using (173) Bluebell work 4 ch.
Row 1: Miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch. Turn. (3 sts)
Rows 2-4: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Turn. (3 sts)
Row 5: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Don’t turn or fasten off.
Neatening Row
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in each corner st to end of row. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Join (115) Hot Red in middle st of 1 of the long edges.
1 ch, work 1 sl st in back loop only of each st on straight edges and 1 sl st, 1 ch and 1 sl st in each corner st to end of row. Join with a sl st in 1st st. Fasten off leaving a long tail to use for the embroidery on the window.
Join (106) Snow White to any st.
1 ch, work 1 sl st in each st on straight edges and 1 sl st and 1 ch in each corner st to end of row. Join with a sl st in 1stst. Fasten off.
Window Box
Join (162) Black Coffee to 1st st at bottom of window,
1 ch, work 1 sc in same st as join, 3 ch, miss 1st ch, 1 sl st in each remaining ch, 1 sc in each st to 2nd last st along bottom, 3 ch, miss 1st ch, 1 sl st in each remaining ch, 1 sc in last st. Fasten off.
Greenery
Using (606) Grass Green work 5 ch, miss 1st ch, 1 sl st in each of next 2 ch, 2 ch, work 1 sl st in last ch and next of original ch, 2 ch, work 1 sl st in last ch and last of original ch. Fasten off.
Door
Using (115) Hot Red work 9 ch.
Row 1: Miss 1st ch, work 1 sc in each remaining ch. Turn. (8 sts)
Rows 2-13: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Turn. (8 sts)
Row 14: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st. Don’t turn or fasten off.
Neatening Row
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in each corner st to end of row. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Join (106) Snow White to 1st st at side of door where shown.
1 ch, work 1 sc in each st on straight edges and 1 sc, 1 ch and 1 sc in each corner st to bottom. We don’t work along the bottom. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Embroider on windowpanes on all the windows.
Stitch the grass to the flower boxes.
Embroider flowers on the greenery.
Embroider a doorknob to the door.
Attach the door to the bottom middle of the house.
Sew the windows where shown.
