Welcome to my crochet face scrubbie pattern. This pattern was another request. This is what the finished face scrubbie will look like.

Crochet Face Scrubbie Pattern

Abbreviations

st – stitch
sts – stitches

ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet

dc – double crochet
tr – treble crochet

Materials Used

I used Scheepjes Cotton 8, you will need to use cotton not acrylic or wool for durability.

A crochet hook, I used a 3.5mm hook.
A darning needle to weave in ends.
Scissors.

Size

6cm or 2.25” diameter

Notes:

I wanted a thick stitch like a puff stitch but a puff stitch wasn’t tall enough, so I’ve worked my stitch part puff and part cluster. At the beginning of the rows I’ve worked a 2 tr puff cluster stitch and for the rest of the stitches I’ve worked 3 tr puff cluster stitches.

2 tr puff cluster: Working into the same stitch for the cluster put yarn around hook twice, hook into stitch and bring up a loop, yarn around hook and take hook through 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn around hook twice, hook into stitch and bring up a loop, yarn around hook, take hook through 2 loops (5 loops on hook), yarn around hook and take hook through all loops.

3 tr puff cluster: Working into the same stitch for the cluster put yarn around hook twice, hook into stitch and bring up a loop, yarn around hook and take hook through 2 loops (3 loops on hook), yarn around hook twice, hook into stitch and bring up a loop, yarn around hook, take hook through 2 loops (5 loops on hook), yarn around hook twice, hook into stitch and bring up a loop, yarn around hook and take hook through 2 loops (7 loops on hook), yarn around hook and take hook through all loops.

Scrubbie

Make a magic loop.

Row 1: 3 ch, work a 2 tr puff cluster in circle, 1 ch, (work a 3 tr puff cluster in circle, 1 ch) 7 times, pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1^st cluster. (8 clusters with 1 ch between each)

Row 2: 3 ch, work a 2 tr puff cluster in same place as join, 1 ch, (work a 3 tr puff cluster in top of 1 ch from row 1, 1 ch, a 3 tr puff cluster in top of next cluster, 1 ch) 7 times, a 3 tr puff cluster in top of last ch, 1 ch, join with a sl st in top of 1^stcluster. (16 clusters with 1 ch between)

Row 3: 1 ch, work 1 sc in top of each cluster and each 1 ch. Join with a sl st in top of 1^st st. (32 sts)

Row 4: 1 ch, work 1 crab stitch (reverse single crochet) in each st around. Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.
