Petals
Using (208) Yellow Gold make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 6 sc in circle, join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Turn. (6 sts)

Stem (If desired)
Join (606) Grass Green to back loop of a stitch left from row 1 of petals on wrong side,

Row 2: 1 ch, work 1 sc in each st, join with a sl st in top of 1st st.

Work ch for the stem. I worked about 40. (You could wrap yarn around a skewer or wire but I’d like mine to bend to add to a card.)
Miss 2 ch, work 1 dc in each remaining ch. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch the stem together.

Stitch the stem together.

Leaves
Join (606) Grass Green to end of stem

Work enough ch to reach to the flower.

Work 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch to last 3 ch, 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch, 1 sc in last ch, sl st in end of stem.

Work enough ch to reach to the flower.
Work 1 hdc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each ch to last 3 ch, 1 hdc in each of next 2 ch, 1 sc in last ch, sl st in end of stem. Fasten off leaving a tail to stitch the ends to the stem.

Stamen
Using (389) Apple Green work 6 ch.
Miss 2 ch, work 1 hdc in each remaining ch. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch the sides together, crochet on the end and stitch it to the petals.

Stitch the sides together making a loop at end to start working the end in. (2 ch, sl st in end) 4 times. Fasten off leaving the tail to stitch the stamen to the centre of the petals.

To Make Up
Weave in ends. Attach the stamen to the centre of the petals.

Sew the leaves around the end of the stem.

Stitch the sides of the centre together and attach the flower centre in the middle of the petals.

And there’s the finished daffodil. I’ve also made it in different sizes and colors.

And here are some without the stem and leaves.
