Easy Pig Crochet Pattern

Welcome to my easy pig crochet pattern. Today I’ll show you how to make this easy pig.

Easy Pig Crochet Pattern

Abbreviations

Materials Used 

Head

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  2 ch. Work 15 dc into circle and pull circle tight. Sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 2:  2 ch. 1 dc in same place as ch. Work 2 dc into each st around. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 3:  1 ch. Work 1 sc in same place as ch (1 sc in next st and 2 sc in following st) repeat to end, sl st in top of 1st st.  Fasten off.

Body

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  2 ch. Work 15 dc into circle and pull circle tight. Sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 2:  2 ch. 1 dc in same place as ch. Work 2 dc into each st around. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 3:  2 ch. Work 1 dc in same place as ch (1 dc in each of next 2 sts and 2 dc in following st) repeat to end, sl st in top of 1st st.  Don’t fasten off.

Tail

15 ch.  Fasten off.

Ears (Make 2)

Make a magic loop.

2 ch, into circle work 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, 3 ch, sl st into circle, 3 ch, 1 dc, 1 hdc, 1 dc, pull circle tight and sl st into 1st st.  Fasten off.

Snout

Make a magic loop.

1 ch, work 2 sc, 2 dc, 2 sc and 2 dc into circle.  Pull circle tight and sl st in 1st st.  Fasten off.

Eyes (Make 2)

Make a magic loop.

1 ch, work 4 sc into circle.  Pull circle tight and sl st in 1st st.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.  Curl tail if desired.

Embroider 2 black dots on snout.

Embroider a black dot on each eye.

Stitch the ears to the head.

Attach the snout to the head.

Sew the eyes to the head.

Attach the head to the body.

Crochet on front legs.

 

Pigs Right Leg

Join wool 5 sts back from centre st on head.

3 ch, 1 dc in next st and 1 hdc in following st.  Fasten off.

Trotter

Join black wool to top of ch from previous row.

1 ch, work 1 sc in same st as ch and 1 sc in each remaining st.  Fasten off.

Pigs Left Leg

Join wool 2 sts on from centre st on head.

2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts.  Fasten off.

Trotter

Join black wool to top of ch from previous row.

1 ch, work 1 sc in same st as ch and 1 sc in each remaining st.  Fasten off.
