Welcome to my easy duck crochet pattern. This is a beginner crochet pattern and tutorial where I’ll show you how to make this simple duck.

Easy Duck Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htr – half treble crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- dtr – double treble crochet
Materials Used
- Yellow and orange cotton or wool, I used 8 ply wool which is light worsted in the US and double knit in the UK.
- A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook.
- Scissors.
- Sewing needle.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
- Black embroidery cotton or sewing thread to embroider on the eye.
Body
Make a magic loop.
Row 1: 3 ch. Work 12 tr into circle and pull circle tight. Sl st into 3rd ch.
Row 2: 3 ch. Work 1 tr in same place as ch, 2 tr in each of next 7 sts, 1 tr and 1 htr in next st, 1 htr and 1 dc in following st, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc and 1 htr in 2nd last st and 1 htr and 1 tr in last st, sl st in 3rd ch.
Row 3: 1 ch, work 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, sl st in following st, 4 ch, work a joined dtr over same st as ch and next st. Fasten off.
Head
Join wool in 6th st on from tail.
1 ch, work 1 htr, 1 tr and 1 dtr in same st as ch, 1 dtr, 1 tr, 1 htr and 1 dc in next st. Fasten off.
Beak
Join wool 3 sts up from body on head.
3 ch, work a joined tr over same st as ch and next st. Fasten off.
Wing
Make a magic loop.
Into circle work 3 ch, 7 tr, 1 htr, 2 dtr, 1 htr and 1 tr, pull circle tight and join with a sl st in 3rd ch. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Embroider on an eye.
Stitch wing to body.
