The newest crochet pattern that I will be publishing on my website is a pattern for a crochet dragonfly. When finished this is what the dragonfly crochet will look like.

This pattern will use the US terminology, for the UK version go to Dragonfly Crochet Pattern (UK Version).
Dragonfly Crochet Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- sc – single crochet
- hdc – half double crochet
- dc – double crochet
- tr – treble crochet
Materials Used
- Small amount of 2 colours of cotton or wool.
- Crochet hook.
- Scissors.
- Darning needle.
Head and Body
Make a magic loop.
4 ch, 4 tr cluster in circle, 4 ch, sl st into circle,3 ch, 2 dc cluster into circle. Pull circle tight. Do not join.
Repeat row 3 until desired length I usually work 6 rows.
For final row work 4 ch and one tr into top of previous 2 dc cluster. Fasten off.
Join thread for wing on dragonfly’s right side just under head and work top wing first and then work bottom wing.
On dragonfly’s left side join the thread across from the bottom of the bottom wing and work the bottom wing first and then the top wing joining the top wing to the body just under the head.
Top Wings
Ch 19 1 dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 tr in each of next 3 ch, 1 dtr in each of next 3 ch, 1 tr in each of next 2 ch, 1 dc in each st to the end. Sl st into body.
Bottom Wings
Ch 17 1 hdc in 3rd ch from hook, 1 tr, 1 dtr in each of next 6 ch, 1 tr in each ch to end. Sl st into body.
To Make Up
Weave in ends.
