Welcome to my crochet unicycle pattern. This is another request that I received. The finished unicycle applique will look like this.

Crochet Unicycle Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htr – half treble crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- quad tr – quadruple treble crochet
Materials Used
- Crochet cotton or wool, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colours (390) Poppy Rose, (074) Mercury and (110) Black.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- Scissors.
- Darning needle to weave in ends.
- Sewing thread and needle to stitch the unicycle together.
Size
Large unicycle (Using 8 ply crochet cotton & a 3mm hook)
8cm x 15.5cm or 3” x 6”
Medium unicycle (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
5cm x 9cm or 2” x 3.5”
Small unicycle (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
4.5cm x 8.5cm or 1.75” x 3.25”
Inner Wheel and Spokes
Using grey make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 8 dc in circle. Pull circle tight and sl st in top of 1st st.
Row 2: 9 ch, work a quad tr in same st as ch, (2 ch, work 1 quad tr in next st, 2 ch, 1 quad tr in same st as last quad tr) repeat 6 times, 2 ch, sl st in 7th ch. Fasten off. For a quad tr you put yarn around hook 4 times at start of stitch.
Outer Wheel
Join black cotton to any stitch.
1 ch, work 1 htr in same st as ch, 1 htr in each st to end. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. Fasten off.
Frame
Using red work 14 ch.
Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in each st to end. 3 ch, work 2 tr in the side of last dc. Fasten off.
Upper Frame Piece
Using grey work 6 ch.
Miss 1st ch and work 1 sl st in each remaining ch. 1 ch, work 2 dc in the side of last sl st. Fasten off.
Seat
Using black work 15 ch.
Row 1: Miss 1st st and work 1 dc in each of next 5 sts, (a joined dc over following 2 sts) 2 times, 1 dc in each st to end. Fasten off
Join red in 1st st worked of row 1.
Row 2: 1 ch, 1 dc in each of 1st 5 sts, a joined dc over following 2 sts, 1 dc in each st to last st, a sl st in last st. Turn.
Row 3: 1 dc in 1st st, sl st in next st, (1 dc in next st, 1 sl st in following st) 2 times, (1 htr in next st, 1 sl st in following st) repeat to last st, 1 htr in last st. Fasten off.
Pedals (Make 2)
Using red work 3 ch.
Miss 1st st and work 1 dc in each remaining st. Fasten off.
Join grey to pedal and work 4 ch. Fasten off leaving a longer tail to attach the pedal.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Stitch the upper frame piece to the frame piece.
Attach the seat to the upper frame piece.
Sew the frame pieces to the wheel with the bottom of the frame piece in the centre of the wheel.
Stitch one of the pedals to the front of the wheel as shown and the other at the back.
And there’s the finished crochet unicycle. I’ve also made it in different sizes and colours.
