Welcome to my crochet street light pattern. This pattern was another request. This is what the finished street light applique will look like.

Crochet Street Light Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htr – half treble crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- dtr – double treble crochet
Materials Used
- Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colours (110) Black, (281) Tangerine and (280) Lemon.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- A darning needle to weave in ends.
- Scissors.
- Sewing thread and a needle to stitch the street light together.
- Black thread to embroider on the filament and light bulb bottom.
Size
Large street light (Using 8 ply yarn & a 3mm hook)
5cm wide x 28cm high or 2” wide x 11” high
Medium street light (Using 4 ply crochet cotton & a 1.5mm hook)
3cm wide x 19cm high or 1.25” wide x 7.5” high
Small street light (Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
2cm wide x 15cm high or 1” wide x 5.75” high
Post
Using (110) Black work 8 ch.
Row 1: Work 1 dc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 htr in next ch, 1 tr in each of following 3 ch, 1 htr in next ch, 1 dc in last ch. Turn. (7 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 1 dc in each st. Turn. (7 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in each of next 3 sts, a joined dc over last 2 sts. Turn. (5 sts)
Row 4: 1 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in next st, a joined dc over last 2 sts. Turn. (3 sts)
Row 5: 1 ch, work a joined dc over the 3 sts. 33 ch.
Row 6: Miss 1st ch, work 1 dc in each remaining ch, sl st top of row 5. Don’t fasten off.
Neatening Row
Work 1 sl st in each st to the ch. Fasten off.
Light Bulb
Using (280) Lemon work 3 ch.
Row 1: Work 1 htr in 3rd ch from hook. Turn. (1 st)
Row 2: 2 ch, work a 3 tr cluster in st. Fasten off.
Lamp
Using (281) Tangerine work 6 ch.
Row 1: Miss 2 ch, work 1 htr in each remaining ch. Turn. (4 sts)
Row 2: 2 ch, work 2 htr in 1st st, 1 htr in each st to end. Turn. (5 sts)
Row 3: 2 ch, work 2 htr in 1st st, 1 htr in each st to end. Turn. (6 sts)
Row 4: 2 ch, work 2 htr in 1st st, 1 htr in each st to end. Fasten off.
Neatening Row
Join (110) Black to bottom corner st where shown.
Work 1 sl st in each st up 1st side, 1 ch, 2 dc in corner, 1 dc in each st across top, 2 dc in corner, 1 ch, sl st in same st as last dc, 1 sl st in each st down the side, 1 ch, 2 dc in corner, 1 dc in each st along bottom, 2 dc in corner. Don’t fasten off.
Lamp Base
Turn work and sl st into 2nd st.
Row 1: 2 ch, work a joined htr over 1st 2 sts and a joined htr over next 2 sts. Turn. (2 sts)
Row 2: 2 ch, work a joined htr over the 2 sts. Turn. (1 st)
Row 3: 1 ch, work 1 dc in st. Turn.
Row 4: 1 ch, work 1 dc in st or for a more decorative base work 2 ch and 3 htr in st. Fasten off leaving a tail to stitch it to the pole.
Top of Lamp
Join (110) Black to 2nd st where shown.
Row 1: 1 ch, work a joined dc over same st as join and next st, 1 dc in each of next 4 sts, a joined dc over following 2 sts. Turn. (6 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 2 sts, 1 dc in each of next 2 sts, a joined dc over last 2 sts. Turn. (4 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, work a joined dc over 1st 2 sts and a joined dc over last 2 sts. Turn. (2 sts)
Row 4: 1 ch, work a joined dc over the 2 sts. Turn. (1 st)
Row 5: 1 ch, work 1 dc in st. 3 ch.
Row 6: Work 1 sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 dc in last ch, sl st in top of row 4. Fasten off.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Embroider the filament to the light bulb and the light bulb to the base of the lamp.
Stitch the light bulb down.
Embroider the 2 black markings on the lamp.
Attach the lamp to the post.
And there’s the finished street lights.
