Crochet Star Pattern (UK Version)

Welcome to my crochet star pattern. This is what the finished crochet star will look like.

Crochet Star Pattern

Abbreviations 

Materials Used

Size

Large star (Using 8 ply wool)

14cm x 14cm or 5.5” x 5.5”

Medium Star (Using 4 ply crochet cotton)

9cm x 9cm or 3.5” x 3.5”

Small star (Using Perle No 8 Crochet cotton)

7cm x 7cm or 2.75” x 2.75”

Star

Make a magic loop.

Row 1:  2 ch. Work 15 tr into circle and pull circle tight. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 2:  2 ch. 2 tr in same place as ch. Work 2 tr into each st to end of row. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (30 tr)

Row 3: 2 ch. Work 1 tr in same place as ch (2 tr in next st and 1 tr in following st) repeat to end of row, sl st in top of 1st st.  Don’t fasten off.   (45 tr)

Section 1

Row 1:  2 ch, 1 tr in each of next 9 sts.  Turn.

Rows 2-3:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in each st to last 2 sts, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 4:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in next st, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 5:  3 ch, a tr cluster over all sts.  Fasten off.

Sections 2-4

Join yarn in same st as last st from last section.

Row 1:  2 ch, 1 tr in each of next 9 sts.  Turn.

Rows 2-3:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in each st to last 2 sts, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 4:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in next st, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 5:  3 ch, a tr cluster over all sts.  Fasten off.

Section 5

Join yarn in same st as last st from last section.

Row 1:  2 ch, 1 tr in each of next 9 sts (the last st is worked in the same st as the 1st st of section 1).  Turn.

Rows 2-3:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in each st to last 2 sts, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 4:  3 ch, a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in next st, a joined tr over last 2 sts.  Turn.

Row 5:  3 ch, a tr cluster over all sts.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.  Decorate as desired.
