Welcome to my crochet small star pattern. I added this star to my baby blanket with the centre picture panel. This is what the finished small star applique will look like.
There’s also a video tutorial for this pattern available on my YouTube channel at crochet small star tutorial.
This pattern will be using US terminology. If you want to view the UK version, go to crochet small star pattern (UK version).

Star
Using (208) Yellow Gold make a magic loop. You could work 3 ch and join with a sl st instead.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 5 sc in circle, pull the circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (5 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 2 sc in each st, join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (10 sts)
Row 3: (5 ch, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in next ch, 1 hdc in following ch, 1 dc in last ch, miss next sc on the circle, sl st in following sc) 5 times. Fasten off.
