Crochet Pram Pattern

Welcome to my crochet pram pattern. The finished crochet pram applique will look like this.

Crochet Pram Pattern 

Abbreviations

Materials Used

Size 

Large (Using 8 ply wool)

11.5cm x 13cm or 4.5” x 5”

Medium (Using 4 ply crochet cotton)

7.5cm x 9cm or 2.75” x 3.5”

Carriage

Using main color work 8 ch.

Row 1:  Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (9 sts)

Row 2:  1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (11 sts)

Row 3:  1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (13 sts)

Row 4:  1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (15 sts)

Row 5:  1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (17 sts)

Row 6:  1 ch, 2 sc in 1st st, 1 sc in each st to last st, 2 sc in last st.  Turn.  (19 sts)

Row 7:  3 ch, 2 dc in 1st st, 1 hdc in next st, 1 sc in each st to last 2 sts, 1 hdc in next st, 2 dc in last st.  Don’t Fasten off.  (21 sts)

Neatening Row

1 ch, work 1 sc in each st around.  Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.  Fasten off.

Carriage Trim

Join contrast cotton to 1st st on top of carriage.

2 ch, work 1 hdc in each st along top.  Fasten off.

Inner Wheel (Make 2)

Using main color make a magic loop.

1 ch, work 8 sc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st.  Don’t fasten off.

Spokes

5 ch, work (1 dc in next st, 2 ch) 7 times, sl st into 3rd ch.  Fasten off.

Join contrast cotton to any dc of spokes.

1 ch, work 1 sc in each st around.  Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.  Fasten off.

Handle

Join contrast cotton to 1st st at top of pram.

9 ch.

Work 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook, 2 sc in each of next 2 sts, 1 sc in each st to end.  Sl st into next st on carriage trim.  Fasten off.

Handle End

Using main color make a magic loop.

1 ch, work 4 sc into circle.  Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st.  Fasten off.

Hood

Using main color make a magic loop.

Row 1:  3 ch, work 4 dc into circle, pull circle tight but don’t join.  Turn.

Row 2:  3 ch, work 2 dc in each st.  Turn.

Row 3:  3 ch, work 1 dc in 1st st, (1 dc in next st and 2 dc in following st) repeat to end of row.  Turn.

Row 4:  2 ch, work 1 hdc in each of 1st 2 sts and 2 hdc in following st, (1 dc in next st and 2 dc in following st) 2 times, then (1 tr in next st and 2 tr in following st) to end of row.

Neatening Row

Turn work before neatening row.

1 ch, work 1 sc in each st around.  Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.  Fasten off.

Hood Trim

Join contrast color about 2 sts up from corner of hood.

(1 ch, sl st into next st) repeat to corner.  Fasten off.

Markings for Hood

Make 4 lengths of chain to stitch on the hood between the corner of the hood and the edge as shown.

Flower

Using contrast color make a magic loop.

1 ch, into circle work (1 sl st and 1 hdc) 5 times.  Pull the circle tight and join with a sl st in 1st st.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in Ends.  Attach handle end to handle.

Stitch hood markings to hood.

Sew the hood to the carriage trim.

Attach the wheels.

Stitch flower to join of hood and carriage.
