Welcome to my crochet macadamia nut pattern. This pattern was another request. This is what the finished macadamia nut applique will look like.

Crochet Macadamia Nut Pattern
Abbreviations
- st – stitch
- sts – stitches
- ch – chain
- sl st – slip stitch
- dc – double crochet
- htr – half treble crochet
- tr – treble crochet
- dtr – double treble crochet
Materials Used
- Any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Maxi Sweet Treat 2 ply crochet cotton colours (254) Moon Rock, (105) Bridal White, (162) Black Coffee, (606) Grass Green and (389) Apple Green.
- A crochet hook, I used a 1mm hook.
- A darning needle to weave in ends.
- Scissors.
- Stuffing.
Size
(Using 2 ply crochet cotton & a 1mm hook)
10cm wide x 18cm long or 4” wide x 7” long
Macadamia Nut
Using (105) Bridal White make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 6 dc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (6 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 2 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (12 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, (work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in following st) 6 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (18 sts)
Rows 4-5: 1 ch, work 1 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (18 sts)
Row 6: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts, 1 dc in following st) 6 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (12 sts)
Row 7: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 6 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.
Add filling.
Row 8: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 3 times. Fasten off.
Macadamia Nut in Shell
Using (162) Black Coffee make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 7 dc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (7 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 2 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (14 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, (work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in following st) 7 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (21 sts)
Rows 4-6: 1 ch, work 1 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (21 sts)
Row 7: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts, 1 dc in following st) 7 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (14 sts)
Row 8: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 7 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.
Add filling.
Row 9: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 4 times. Fasten off.
Macadamia Nut Husk (Make 7)
Using (389) Apple Green make a magic loop.
Row 1: 1 ch, work 8 dc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (8 sts)
Row 2: 1 ch, work 2 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (16 sts)
Row 3: 1 ch, (work 2 dc in next st, 1 dc in following st) 8 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (24 sts)
Rows 4-8: 1 ch, work 1 dc in each st. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (24 sts)
Row 9: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts, 1 dc in following st) 8 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st. (16 sts)
Row 10: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 8 times. Join with a sl st in top of 1st st.
Add filling.
Row 11: 1 ch, (work a joined dc over next 2 sts) 4 times. 3 ch, miss 1st ch, work 1 sl st in each of last 2 ch. Fasten off leaving a long tail and thread it through the centre of piece to centre circle.
Leaves (Make 7)
Using (606) Grass Green work 22 ch.
Miss 1st ch, work 1 sl st in each of next 3 ch. 1 ch, work 1 dc in same ch as last sl st, 1 htr in next ch, 1 tr in following ch, (2 dtr in next ch, 1 dtr in each of following 2 ch) 4 times, 2 dtr in next ch, 1 tr in following ch, 1 htr in next ch, 1 dc, 1 tr and 1 dc in last ch, working in back of the ch work 1 htr in next ch, 1 tr in following ch, (2 dtr in next ch, 1 dtr in each of following 2 ch) 4 times, 2 dtr in next ch, 1 tr in following ch, 1 htr in next ch, 1 sl st in following ch. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch it to the branch.
Branch
Using (254) Moon Rock work 7 ch.
Row 1: Miss 2 ch, work 1 tr in each remaining ch. Turn. (5 sts)
Rows 2-10: 2 ch, work 1 tr in each st. Turn. (5 sts)
Row 11: 2 ch, work 1 tr in 1st st, a joined tr over next 2 sts, 1 tr in each of last 2 sts. Turn. (4 sts)
Rows 12-22: 2 ch, work 1 tr in each st. Turn. (4 sts)
Row 23: 2 ch, work 1 tr in 1st st, a joined tr over next 2 sts, 1 tr in last st. Turn. (3 sts)
Rows 24-30: 2 ch, work 1 tr in each st. Turn. (3 sts)
Row 31: 2 ch, work a joined tr over 1st 2 sts, 1 tr in last st. Turn. (2 sts)
Row: 32: 2 ch, work 1 tr in each st. Turn. (2 sts)
Row 33: 2 ch, work 1 tr in each st. Fasten off leaving a long tail to stitch up the side.
To Make Up
Weave in ends. Stitch the sides of the branch together.
Attach the macadamia husks to the thin end of the branch.
Weave the end from the leaves to the end of the stem and sew the stems to the branch.
