Size

6” wide x 4’ long or 15cm wide x 1.25m long

Scarf

I worked a knitted scarf in garter stitch to give it a bit of a different texture, but a crocheted scarf would look just as good. You could use the Eva Scarf pattern. I used 3 balls of different coloured 4 ply baby yarn worked together for the scarf to make it soft, but you could use 1 ball of thick yarn.

Using the 3 balls of baby yarn cast on 20 sts.

Row 1: Knit to end of row. Turn.

Repeat row 1 until scarf measures desired length.  I made my scarf about 4’ long.

Cast off.

Flowers

I made 17 flowers with different colours for the back and centre out of the 3 colours from the scarf. I used 2 strands of yarn for the flowers.

Back of Flower

Using 2 strands of the desired colour of yarn and a 4mm crochet hook make a magic loop.

Row 1: 1 ch, work 10 dc in circle. Pull circle tight and join with a sl st in top of 1st st.

Row 2: (4 ch, work a joined dtr over same st as ch and next st, 4 ch, sl st in same st as last part of joined dtr) 5 times. Fasten off.

Centre of Flower

Using 2 strands of the desired colour of yarn and a 4mm crochet hook make a magic loop.

Row 1: (3 ch, work a joined tr over same st as ch and next st, 3 ch, sl st in same st as last part of joined tr) 5 times. Fasten off.

Braid

Using 3 ply yarn and a 2.5mm crochet hook work desired amount of chain for braid. You will need an even number of ch. I lay it out on the scarf to see how it looks with the flowers.

Miss 2 ch, work a joined htr over next 2 sts, 2 ch, sl st in same st as last part of joined htr, (sl st in next st, 2 ch, work a joined htr over same st as ch and next st, 2 ch, sl st in same st as last part of joined htr) repeat to end of ch. work into the back of the ch (2 ch, work a joined htr over same st as ch and next st, 2 ch, sl st in same st as last part of joined htr, sl st in next st) repeat to end of ch. Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends. Lay the flowers and braid out on the scarf.

Once you are happy with the design stitch the flowers to the scarf with beads in the centre. Attach the braid to the scarf, I stitched a bead to the centre of the braid on about every 5th cluster.

And there’s the finished flower scarf. I’ve also made it with different colours.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed the pattern. If you have, I’ve got some other patterns that you might enjoy, including the crochet Eva scarf, the butterfly scarf and the spring blanket.
