Crochet Cockatiel Tutorial

Welcome to my crochet cockatiel tutorial. This is the video tutorial for my crochet cockatiel pattern.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (242) Metal Grey, (106) Snow White, (522) Primrose, (074) Mercury, (254) Moon Rock, (189) Royal Orange and (393) Charcoal.  A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook.  A darning needle to weave in ends.  Scissors.  Thread and needle to stitch the cockatiel together.  Black thread to embroider on an eye.

The finished cockatiel applique will be 10cm wide x 17cm high (4” wide x 6.5” high) and will look like this.

In this video tutorial I’ll show you how to make the head, crest, and beak. Then I’ll guide you through making the body, feathers, wing, and tail. And finally, I’ll show you how to join all the pieces together.

I hope that you’ve enjoyed the tutorial video. Have a look at some of my other tutorials, including the standing flamingo tutorial, the galah, the cockatoo, and the king parrot.
