Welcome to my crochet baby beanie tutorial. This is the video tutorial for my crochet baby beanie pattern.
I make beanies and other items for charity so thought I’d show you the baby beanies I make.
For this pattern you will need 1 ball of 8 ply yarn. A pair of scissors. Darning needle to weave in ends and stitch beanie together. Appliqués to decorate beanie if desired.
The finished sizes are:
Hat Circumference Hat Height
Newborn 28-31cm or 11-12” 12-13cm or 4.5-5”
0-6 Months 31-36cm or 12-14” 13-14.5cm or 5-5.5”
6-12 Months 36-41cm or 14-16” 14.5-17cm or 5.5-6.5”
1-3 Toddler 41-43.5cm or 16-17” 17-17.5cm or 6.5-6.75”
The finished beanie will look like this.
Some of the appliques I used to decorate the beanies are the small bee, the small cat, car and frog appliques. The bees were made with 2 ply cotton. All the other appliqués I’ve added were made using DMC number 20 cotton.
