Blossoms and Swing for Tree Crochet Pattern (UK Version)

Welcome to my blossoms and swing for the crochet tree pattern. This is another pattern in my teddy bears picnic blanket series. When finished, with the swing and blossoms attached, the crochet tree applique will look like this.

Blossoms and Swing for Tree Crochet Pattern 

Abbreviations 

Materials Used

Size

Blossom (Using 4 ply crochet cotton)

1cm x 1 cm or 0.5” x 0.5”

Swing – not including chain (Using 4 ply crochet cotton)

5cm x 0.5cm or 2” x 0.25”

Blossom (I made 85 blossoms)

Make a magic loop.

(3 ch, sl st in circle) 5 times.  Pull circle tight and fasten off.

Swing

Work 19 ch.

Miss 2 ch and work 1 htr in each st to end.  Work enough chain to hang your swing from the branch at the desired height.  Fasten off.

Attach cotton to the other side of the swing.

Work the same amount of chain as you worked for the 1st side.  Fasten off.

To Make Up

Weave in ends.  Stitch the blossoms to the tree using either a bead or a French knot for the centre of the flower.  I attached the blossoms mainly in groups of three.

Attach the swing to the branch where shown.

Sit a child teddy on the swing if desired.
